I’m David and I am just entering my second year on the Encounter course with the London Centre for Spiritual Direction.
There are many metaphors for spiritual direction but the one which resonates most with me is that of pilgrimage.
In a session together, the focus is on your journey with God. As a fellow pilgrim, I walk alongside you with gentleness and curiosity. Sessions are unhurried, contemplative spaces to reflect, wonder, and ask questions. My hope is to prayerfully discern with you the voice of God as you hear it along the way.
As you prepare for pilgrimage, I can offer space to listen for what God is inviting you into. Together, we’ll explore your hopes and questions paying attention to the stirrings of your heart. I’ll walk with you as you seek clarity, offering prayerful presence and thoughtful questions to help you step into your journey with intention and trust.
After pilgrimage, spiritual direction offers a space to unpack the journey. Together, we’ll reflect on where you sensed God’s presence, what shifted in you, and how the experience is inviting you forward. I’ll listen with care as you make meaning of the road you’ve walked, helping you notice what to carry with you—and what to leave behind.
