Seven years ago last Wednesday I came out. I had Seven years ago last Wednesday I came out.
I had spent three decades of my life hiding myself from those who loved me until I finally came to a place of internal acceptance.

Since sharing my true self with the world, I have learnt that the God, who I once believed found me disgusting, delights in me.

This month is pride month, some people wonder why it matters “we don’t have straight month” after all. It matters because people are still scared to share who they are…. especially in faith communities.

So wherever you are and however love is present in your life, know the great Divine love delights in you.

Today we continued our Celtic saint pilgrimage by Today we continued our Celtic saint pilgrimage by visiting old Melrose. Tucked away in the quiet bends of the River Tweed you can find the original site of Saint Aidan’s monastery where he lived and worshipped. (Not Melrose Abbey which was developed later under the Carthusians) It was here that the spiritual roots of Northumbria began to grow. Saint Cuthbert, moved by a vision of Aidan’s passing, journeyed to this sacred place to enter monastic life. The place feels raw and sacred. Next stop Iona!

Our next Celtic saint in our pilgrimage is Saint A Our next Celtic saint in our pilgrimage is Saint Aiden.

Saint Aidan was an Irish monk sent from Iona to Northumbria in 635. He founded the monastery here at Lindisfarne, which became a centre of Christian faith and learning. Known for his humility and deep care for others, he played a key role in spreading Christianity in the region.
Saint Cuthbert was inspired by Aidan’s example and later followed in his footsteps as bishop of Lindisfarne, continuing his mission and preserving his legacy.
